Description

Silver; shaped oval with straight sides, engraved with bright cut borders and two oval cartouches containing armorials

Silver; with bright cut and pricked decoration and engraved armorials. The shaped oval caddy has straight sides with a narrow reeded border to the rim and foot, and a flat base. The cover is slightly domed and surmounted by an urn-shaped finial and has a concealed hinge. At the top and bottom of the sides and on the cover are borders of bright-cut engraving and pricking. The front and back of the caddy are engraved with an oval cartouche; the front containing a crest, the back containing the coat-of-arms of John Bulteel of Pamfleet and Lyneham, impaling Crocker with Perrin in pretence. A key hole is cut in the front above the armorials, with a lock inside.
