Description

White earthenware, moulded, decorated with coloured transfer prints under a clear crazed glaze. Blue, yellow and red with a brown key plate. Circular with a sloping rim and flat central area. 'The Room in which Shakespeare was Born', inscribed 'THE ROOM IN WHICH SHAKESPEARE WAS BORN, 1564, STRATFORD ON AVON'. Encircled by a 'pearl' border between two gilt lines; red enamel ground; outer border 123 with three gilt lines.
