Description

Pictorial embroidery, mid-17th century. Silk, embroidered with polychrome silks, silver and silver gilt metal threads, purl, plate and spangles, in buttonhole, darning, satin, stem and tent stitch with needle lace and couching.
The depiction of the Temptation of Adam and Eve and the Sacrifice of Isaac is based on the title page of Du Bartas, His Divine Weekes, and Workes
