Description

Metal etui covered in black leather set with gold studs, with original interior division and an ivory implement

Metal, leather and gold; of oval section with tapering sides and hinged lid with sprung button catch. The metal etui is covered with black leather which is studded with small dots and flowerheads of gold to form decorative borders and two cartouches. Round the top and bottom of the lid and base are moulded gold mounts. In the centre of the slightly domed lid is a small swivel handle. The interior divider is of wood with a gold on brass top. It would have contained seven implements but only a flat ivory implement remains.
