Description

Tortoise-shell with miniature of a rose and viola

Tortoise-shell set with an enamelled miniature in a gold mount. The circular box has an almost flat pull-off lid, which is set with a border of gold piqué dots and a pressed pattern of ropework and concentric rings. The straight sides and base are pressed with a similar pattern of ropework and concentric rings. The circular miniature depicts a deep pink rose and three buds and three deep purple and yellow violas.
