Description

Circular, gilt metal snuff box, the flat lid set with brown aventurine glass

Gilt metal, chased, and brown aventurine glass. Circular with bombé sides, projecting hinge and cusped thumbpiece. The lid is set with a large flat disc of glass. The sides are chased with panels of rocaille decoration.
