Enamel on copper with gilt metal mounts; rectangular; the lid painted with the Schloss at Hubertusburg

Enamel on copper with gilt metal mounts; rectangular with straight sides and hinged slightly domed lid. The box is painted in coloured enamels on a white enamelled ground. Depicted on the lid is the hunting Schloss at Hubertusburg with the inscription above ' NVNCIA PACIS' and below 'HVBERTSBERG . D. 15 FEBR : MDCCLXIII'. She stands in a rural landsape in which there is a field of partially cut corn and a man ploughing with two horses. Inscribed above is 'IAM REDIRE AVDET' and below ' GERMANIS PACTA'.
