Enamel on copper; rectangular, the lid painted with a pastoral view of a two lovers and Cupid
Enamel on copper with gilt metal mounts; rectangular with straight sides and hinged slightly domed lid. The box is painted with pastoral scenes in coloured enamels on a white enamelled ground. Depicted on the lid are two lovers in a wooded glade with Cupid flying above carrying a wreath; inside the lid is a shepherdess; on the front side are a pair of lovers; and on the three other sides is a young man or woman in a pastoral setting; painted on the base in green are some shrubs and a tree. The gilt metal mount round the lid is engraved with a pattern of lozenges on a reeded ground and has an arched thumbpiece. Inside the box the lower mount has a fluted edge.
