Description

Desk seal with carnelian sealstone and red and white agate handle with embossed and chased gold mounts

Carved carnelian and red and white striated agate with embossed and chased gold mounts. Rounded rectangular carnelian sealstone with an intaglio crest of two hands above the initials 'JI' or 'SI' in reverse. Oval in section agate handle broadening towards the rounded terminal. Domed and waisted mount decorated with borders of stiff leaves and flowerheads on a matted ground.
