Flattened cylindrical needle case enamelled with polychrome sprays of flowers on a black ground
Copper, enamelled in polychrome, with applied gold leaf decorative borders and gilt metal mounts. Oval in section with a hinged lid at either end. Each side painted with a spray of flowers, including red and yellow roses, red tipped yellow tulips, forget-me-nots and pink and blue morning glory, on a black ground. Round the mounts and on the top of the slightly domed lids are borders of gilt stiff leaf decoration.
