Earthenware, tin-glazed white on the upper surface and painted in blue. A skating scene. A group of men skating on a frozen canal. In the background, two windmills, a church and houses. There is a hole in the top left and in the lower right corner.

History note: Mr Whittaker, Cambridge from whom purchased with three unrelated tiles for 7s. 6d. on 17 December, 1909 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
