Description

Bone china, transfer-printed in black, enamelled and gilt.

Bone china, transfer-printed in black and enamelled in blue, green, yellow, pink, red, and black. Cylindrical with a loop handle with thumb spur on top. Decorated on one side with a battle ship titled below '1914 H.M.S. IRON DUKE 1918', with above, a laurel wreath enclosing ‘FOR/HONOUR/AND LIBERTY’ with three allied flags on each side, and above, yellow sun rays and 'VICTORY'. On the other side is a laurel and oak wreath with a pink bow at the bottom, enclosing a yellow rope circle around the words ‘WAR DECLARED/ MIDNIGHT/AUGUST 4TH 1914/ARMISTICE SIGNED/5 A.M./ NOV. 11TH 1918'. There are gold lines on the sides of the handle and down its back. Inside near the top is a print of an aeroplane.
