Description

Marie Antoinette seated in a cell holding a book her right hand and resting her left on a cushion. Barred window upper left. She is wearing dark clothes and a long veil and a portrait medallion of one of her children. To her left is a bust of Louis XVI and his will. Some of the King's handwriting is visible: "Aujourdui [sic].. Louis XVI... Roy de France... inferm... Je laisse mon me Dieu.... Je crois fermement .... 25th Decembre 1792 Louis".
