Description

The iron blade is formed with four spikes, each pair a deep crescent with w low medial rib, and forged with a narrow but solid socket for the haft with a transverse medial flange at the back. The blade is decorated with some incised ornament at the junction of the blades. The haft is of wood, tapering above the blade to a blunt point where an iron top spike is fitted. A wavy line of iron nails runs down the haft, two retaining fragments of copper alloy, where a reinforcing strip was applied
