Taylor notes 'Weapon perhaps imperfect. As it exists now it is but a light mace ( ) with long iron shaft.’ It appears this was intended to fit inside a wooden haft. The head is comparable to a series of maces from Satara, Royal Armouries nos XXVIC.?? and Victoria and Albert Museum, one of which is recorded by Egerton as a lohangi kati from Indore (1880: 78 no. 8, fig. 15.8)
