Silversmith: Sehl, Ferdinand (Probably)
Silver, parcel-gilt; silver cylindrical sides standing on three ball feet, the low cover set with a silver medallion within two silver-gilt borders of formal strapwork and scrolls
Silver, parcel-gilt, chased, engraved and punched. The silver cylindrical sides have, at the top, an engraved border of formal interlacing strapwork beneath a silver-gilt border of punched decoration and an applied moulded rim. The three large silver-gilt ball feet are cast and chased with the head of a woman within a wreath of foliage, and are attached to lyre-shaped plaques with a stylised flower or shell above. The cover has one low step and a sunken border round a central boss set with a Swedish medallion. Round the medallion are two broad silver-gilt borders of formal strapwork. The hollow D-shaped handle has an applied silver-gilt border of a mask above a column of husks. At the top is a large bud-shaped thumbpiece. The interior is gilt.
