In the form of a sleeved skirted jacket, opening at the front, and slit at the back for riding. The mail is all of riveted construction. The sleeves are cut at an angle. Each link is forged with a Koranic inscription. Low of the left front skirt is a blob of lead incised with an illegible mark. At the neck is a collar with dags, formed of brass butted links and iron links in alternate rows of riveted links and theta-shaped solid links in a geometric pattern. Round the outside of the collar is gold thread, with tassels, much damaged and wired to a piece of card (which wants removing!), with gold and red threads
