Bowl with lotus design. Stoneware, moulded and celadon-glazed. This small bowl has a graceful S-shaped profile and a small foot with low footring. The outside is plain and the inside is moulded with a lotus bloom with three ranks of over-lapping petals, each centred by a cloud motif. It is covered by a thin pale bluish-green celadon glaze, that is evenly applied, but discoloured by an accidental dark brown iron-oxide streak inside. Traces of fire-clay supports can be seen on the footring.
