Note

Edition size 25 (restrikes). Copper plate approx. 2mm thick. Wax covering removed from plate before printing. Decisively worked plate with variable depths in the line work. Lack of technical sophistication in landscape paralleled by crudity of resulting area of image. printed well with graphic chemical intense black ink. a degree of retroussage prob. necessary for truly black image, followed by wiping wiht cotton buds. regular wipe with scrim and tissue gives a good, black, contrasting impression. Whatman paper required at least 2 hours curing in damp book, palest aquatint demands soft white wove - printed well on moulin du gue paper but this was too white. Printed edition: paper softened for 2 days in damp book for even distribution of moisture. inked, scrim wipe clean first then dirty handwipe for plate tone, spot wiped highlights. run with medium pressure and very clean/stiff blankets - one fronting and two thick felts - 28 good copies and 10 experimental pulls achieved
