Pottery: Unknown (Uncertain)
Basin. Stoneware, thrown, indented, incised and celadon-glazed. The ten-lobed flower-shaped basin has a deeply lobed, flared rim, and a flared foot carved in ten petal-shaped divisions; on the outside the lobes are defined by carved lines and incised with lotus sprays, while the inside is incised with a large overall lotus leaf. The basin has three neat quartzite spur-marks on the base.

This is a rare example of a ewer accompanied by a basin. It is most likely to date from the mature period of Koryo celadon in the second half of the twelfth century, and to have been made either at Sadang-ri, Kangjin, or at Yuch'on-ri, Puan.
