The steel blade has a medial rib swelling into a slightly reinforced point. At the forte is a large swollen ricasso block with dentated edge. The hilt is of rock crystal, with a waisted, faceted section at the centre and a silver gilt central band with a medial moulding. The scabbard is of wood covered with black silk. The chape and throat are of silver gilt, the subsidiary edges scalloped with central lotus buds, the throat with a small fretted hinged loop for attachment to a sash.
