Tortoise-shell set with a miniature in bodycolour, probably on card, mounted under glass in gilt metal. The circular box has straight sides and a slightly domed pull-off lid. The circular miniature depicts a vase of flowers, including roses and auriculas, next to a bird's nest with two eggs, on a marble slab
