Russet iron skull of thirty-six plates, riveted together with narrow flanges. The front and rear plates are large with sword-shaped copper alloy bands. At the front is a peak, bordered in a plain copper rim. At the centre is a bracket for a maedate, with a plain disc lacquered gold. There is a tehen no kanemono comprising a low dome with a large hole and a fretted band round the base. At the rear is a loop for and agemaki. Attached is a shikoro of five plates, plain iron lacquered black and sugake laced with dark blue lacing. Lining of blue crepe, with two holes torn in it.
