Hemispherical steel skull with a top spike, a long curved nasal with lotus bud finials at top and bottom, attached by a staple missing its wing screw. One plume tube survives on the left, that at the right missing. The skull is decorated with etched spiral bands alternately of calligraphy and wildlife in foliage, and a calligraphic band round the brow. A mail aventail, formed of butted mail, is attached, formed of a fringe at the front, four deep and four shallow dags at the sides and rear.
