The steel blade is single edged and deeply curved, with a flat back. The hilt is of pistol grip form, with a steel guard with long, thin quillons and short narrow langets. There are traces of gold koftgari borders on this. The sides of the grip and the pommel are of silver, the grip hatched, the pommel modelled as a grotesque lion-like face. The upper and lower strap of the grip are of steel, seemingly etched and formerly gilt with a band of flowers. The blade is heavily over cleaned, pitted and stained from its former corrosion.
