Pottery: Unknown (Probably)
Cosmetic box and cover. Stoneware, moulded, washed with iron-oxide, and celadon-glazed. This flat box has a slightly domed top. The whole piece is coated in brownish-black iron-oxide, except for the inside, and covered with a celadon glaze. The rims of both parts are free of glaze and pigment. The body is thick and there are traces of four fire-clay supports on the footring.

This piece would seem to have been made in the latter part of the eleventh or early twelfth century in the kilns at Chinsan-ri, Haenam, not far from Kangjin in South Cholla province.
