Pottery: Unknown (Probably)
Bowl with ducks, willows and reeds design. Stoneware, thrown, inlaid in black and white slip and celadon-glazed. This shallow bowl is decorated in inlay technique both inside and out. Three chrysanthemum florets in the centre inside are surrounded by double lines and a band of youi-heads, all inlaid in white slip, and around the sides is a pond scene in black and white slip with ducks swimming among willows and clusters of reeds, symmetrically arranged in alternation, and a white scroll border round the rim. On the outside between a scroll border and a border of lotus petals are chrysanthemum medallions reserved in a broad scrollwork (tangch'o) band. The pale glossy bluish-green glaze has partly discoloured on the exterior of the bowl. Three quartzite spur-marks can be seen inside the footring.
