Pottery: Unknown (Uncertain)
Cup decorated with crane and cloud design. Stoneware, thrown, inlaid in black and white slip and celadon-glazed. Probably Sadang-ri or Yuch'on-ri ware. This relatively big cup has an incurved mouth, a rounded body and a small foot. It is inlaid in black and white slip with a chrysanthemum medallion in the centre within a ring of youi-heads, four cranes among stylised clouds round the sides and a classic-scroll border at the rim. On the outside, between a key-fret border and a border of lotus petals is a broad band of scrollwork (tangch'o) with four chrysanthemum florets in double-outlined medallions. The opaque greenish-blue glaze is crackled. Four quartzite spur-marks are remaining on the footring.
