Silver, parcel-gilt; circular bowl on a tapering handle with a large finial in the form of a angel with shieldand trumpet
Silver, parcel-gilt. The oval bowl is attached to the handle with a short rat's tail. The lower section of the tapering handle is cast and decorated on both sides with a figure above a grotesque mask. The front of upper section of the handle is engraved with scrolling foliage and flowers. The large silver-gilt finial is in the form of an angel holding a trumpet and a shield engraved with a coat-of-arms. The rim of the back of the bowl is inscribed ' Diouwertion : Noordt : Landt : Obüt : Don : 12 : September Ao : 1678'; the centre is initialled 'GG' over 'FP' or 'TP'.
