Description

Silver-gilt; the front of the fig-shaped bowl is engraved with a pattern of strapwork. The slender handle is square in section and decorated on the front and sides of the base and centre with moulded balusters. The finial is an openwork ball with girdle.

Notes

History note: The attached paper label says the spoon was sold at the Dunn Gardner sale. Several sales were held at Christie's of the Dunn Gardner family's possessionsbut it is likely this spoon was sold on either 1870-04-07 or 1881-07-06.
