This small dish is decorated inside with stamped motifs in three zones, showing a large floret in the centre, surrounded by a radiating cord pattern over which the two characters Naesom (name of a government office) have been stamped, and by two rows of chrysanthemum florets. The exterior of the dish is decorated with a similar cord pattern. The piece is covered with a greyish-blue glaze. The thickness of the foot is somewhat irregular, and the base has not been glazed.

Vessels with the inscription Naesom have generally been found at kiln sites in Cholla province. The two characters represent a shortened form of Naesom-si, the government office in charge of local tributes from the provinces and of hospitality towards official missions from Manchuria and Japan. This vessel was probably made for this office in the fifteenth century.
