This is a so-called masangbae, a wine-cup for riders. The glaze colour is typical of the sixteenth century. This piece was probably made in the first half of the century at one of the punch'ong kilns in Kyongsang province that went on to make true porcelain, like those in Chinyang, Sanch'ong or Koryong.
