Hangari
Pottery: Unknown (Possibly)
Jar with plant design. Porcelain, thrown, painted in iron-brown, and glazed. The jar (hangari) has a rolled mouth, a globular body and a small foot. It is freely and boldly painted on both sides with grasses or similar plants in underglaze iron-oxide. The glaze has a dark greyish-white tone. The base still shows traces of fine sand from the firing support.

Comparison with excavated sherds suggests that this jar was made in one of the kilns known to have been active between 1665 and 1676, such as Sindae-ri in Kwangju, Kyonggi province, which were noted for their production of underglaze-brown painted wares.
