Seal paste box with flower design. Porcelain, slab-built, painted in cobalt-blue and glazed. The square box has straight sides, a shallow domed cover and an unglazed base. The cover is painted in underglaze-blue with a flower spray, the four sides each with a scroll motif. Wooden box.
History note: Purchased with its box for his wife by the donor in Seoul, whilst visiting British troops to talk to them about Korea during a truce in the Korean war.
Given by G. St. G. M. Gompertz, CBE, in memory of his wife, Elizabeth.
