Note

The head has been reworked. There are also signs of reworking on the left-hand side of the king's breeches. The label 'King Charles' has been changed from 'Prince Charles'. In the first state Charles would have appeared younger, which explains the signs of reworking around the head. Peake was not the first publisher of this print, under his address are remnants of three lines of lettering.
