Description

Variegated grey agate set in gold. A large cabochon cut agate surrounded by four medium-sized and two small cabochon agates claw set in gold with closed back, separated by short gold beads with closed back. Hinged pin and curled hook fastening, also gold.

Notes

History note: The brooch belonged to the donor's mother-in-law, Elizabeth Barnes (neƩ Ogle), whose family came from Northern Ireland.
