The bowl has an English silver gilt rim and straps. The outside shows a frieze of horses at the 'flying gallop', with flowering bushes below. The inside of the bowl depicts a central landscape panel, with Buddhist wheels as a border, and a frieze landscape at the edge.
On the inside of the silver gilt rim there is a coat of arms.
The bowl has a mark written in Chinese, and there are two marks on the exterior of the rim mount.
History note: There is a possibility that this bowl was one sold at Sotheby's on the 2nd August 1922
