Method of acquisition: Given (1933) by Charrington, John
The sixth known state of the plate. In previous states the portrrait had been altered from Oliver Cromwell, to Louis XIV, to Cromwell again and then to Charles I. There are numerous changes to the costume from the preceding state and the page-boy has been given a moustache. The border has been strengthened and the coat of arms and lettering changed.
