Production: Masachika
Iron tsuba. Mokko shape. This represents a scene towards the end of the life of the famous poetess, Ononokomachi. A famous beauty in her younger days, the shibuichi poetess, is seen seated on the one-end of a fallen pillar, sotobu, partly portrayed on each of the two sides, susuki, growing by her. Her clothes are partly gilt, while her gilt bamboo (or rice straw) hat, rests on the ground full of flowers. The scene is autumn (from the plants shown) and two kaniare are flying about in the light of a crescent moon, silver. Signature: Yasuchika Masachika
