Bone china, with clear and pale yellow glaze, decorated in royal blue and yellow, and gilt. The cup is cylindrical (can-shaped) with a loop handle, and the circular saucer has shallow curved sides, a central depression for the cup, and stands on a footring. The outside of the cup and the inside of the saucer are decorated with pale yellow glaze, and a geometrical motif in blue, yellow, and gold. There are gold bands round the rims and a line down the back of the handle
History note: Given to Ernest and Freda Walton, as a wedding present in 1934 by John and Elizabeth Cockcroft
