Leaf from a Lectionary
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 237 x 173 (190 x 120) mm, 25 long lines, ruled in faint brown ink.
CONTENTS: Excerpts from the Gospel of St John (7:40-53 and 11:47-49) and from Jeremiah 17:13-18.
ORNAMENTATION: Red arabesque initials [3 ll.] with floral or zoomorphic decoration on blue and green background; red penwork one-line initials.
History note: Found in the Central Library, 7 Lion Yard, Cambridge in 2007 and presented to the Museum by Christopher Jakes, Senior Librarian, Cambridgeshire Libraries, Archives & Information Service, Cambridgeshire County Council
