Description

Jar fragment. Stoneware, incised, black-glazed. The sherd has a greyish-white fine clay body over which is a pale bluish-green or pale greenish-brown glaze, thinly applied, with a gloss. The footring is everted and inside the base is faint traces of greyish-white fireclay supports. The mouth of the black-glazed vessel is angled.

Note

It appears to be the product of the Yue Kilns in the period of the Five Dynasties (907-960).
