Fritware coated in a white glaze painted in blue, turquoise and lustre

Fritware, mould made, coated in a white glaze painted under and on the glaze in blue, turquoise and lustre
Shape: star shaped tile with slightly bevelled edges
Upper surface: around the edge, reflecting the tile shape, an inscription is painted in lustre and framed with blue lines. In the centre of the tile a central hare with a dotted coat is surrounded by plump birds with outstretched wings and scrolling half palmettes, all reserved on a lustred ground incised with scrolls. Spots of turquoise pigment are present on each of the birds and the hare. Four large half palmettes, arranged symmetrically above and below the hare are outlined in blue and contain lustre scrolls and dashes.
Lower surface: undecorated

Notes

History note: From the collection of the late Henry Wallis. On the back there is a rectangular label printed in black 'LENT BY/' stamped in purple 'H WALLIS ESQ'/, printed in black 'No.' written in black ink 95'.
