Description

Fritware painted in polychrome under a colourless glaze

Fritware, mould made, painted in blue, turquoise, olive green, purple and black under a colourless glaze
Shape: roughly square tile with bevelled edges.
Upper surface: all decoration is reserved in blue. Painted on the right hand side, a white tulip with purple dots and purple bunch of grapes on a stem alongside green vine leaves. On the left hand side, turquoise ā€˜Vā€™ shaped leafy tendrils, containing stylised prunus branches; converge on a festooned mandorla containing a floral spray reserved in green.
Underside: undecorated
