Description

Fritware painted in polychrome under a colourless glaze

Fritware, mould made, painted red slip, blue, emerald green and black under a colourless glaze. Framed in dark wood.
Shape: rectangular tile with lower edge cut away to form a semi-ovular shape, enclosed by a rectangular frame.
Upper surface: around the edge a polychrome split leaf palmette arabesque pattern, incorporating heart shaped medallions, is reserved in blue. On the main area of the tile a polychrome floral spray of carnation, tulip and rose are painted.
Lower surface: not visible.
