Frederick Sandys album
In ink on inside front cover: "This album is said to have belonged to the artist's father but a few things have been added since his death".
The album's contents are varied: stuck on the pages are proof impressions of Sandys wood engravings, drawings, newspaper clippings and periodical pages (some objects have been removed and mounted separately). But also inserted loose at various points in the album are numerous etchings (some relating to the stuck-down drawings). Everything pasted into the album (including those things that have since been removed) is numbered according to which leaf it is pasted on; the loose works have been given separate accession numbers. Several leaves have been completely removed.
