Note

"F.A. Sandys after his own portrait by his father in my poss CFM. This is from an oil painting on millboard by the artists father purchased at his sale". The painting, of Frederick aged 19, is now in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London. Frederick made an etching after the painting (see an impression at Norwich)
