ORNAMENTATION
Title-page for the Rosary written in gold on purple-stained parchment, with cornucopia and fruit (fol. 71v); blue or pink epigraphic capitals [4-8 ll.] with acanthus, fruit, floral or zoomorphic ornament on gold ground or gold initials [6 ll.] with interlace ornament on blue ground for major text divisions, followed by opening words written in gold on coloured scrolls; gold initials [1-2 ll.] on blue or red grounds; alternate blue and red paragraph marks; capitals highlighted in yellow.

Offset of a lost title page, which contained a shield of arms within a circle (fol. 1r);
ownership inscription on recto of parchment flyleaf at front: Allieri Seraphini Clericus accepto die sestente 2 Februari anni 1835 Selecta memoria avi mei Jovannis, ad Allieri Seraphinum; entwined initials ‘DM’ on fol. 1r; Samuel Sandars (1837-1894), purchased from Ellis and White in 1874 (pencil note on verso of paper flyleaf at front); his gift to the Museum, 1892.
