Marlay cutting It. 42b, opening lines of a commission appointing Gregorino de []nelli a Councillor in Corfu (consiliarius corphoi) for two years

DECORATION
Marlay cutting It. 42b the Virgin and Child enthroned between St Dominic and St Bernard, who presents the holder of the commission to the Virgin, the scene framed by two pillars and a plinth with words DIV ET FELIX, with traces of a border in grey with arms and shields in gold.

ORNAMENTATION
Marlay cutting It. 42a, opening lines of text written in gold on a red cartouche surmounted by the lion of St Mark standing beside the sea near a cliff-top castle, surrounded by a full border in gold chiaroscuro on grey with arms, trophies, portrait heads and dolphins linked by ribbons; two gold initials [1-2 ll.] on square grounds of solid blue.
