PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Parchment, 220 x 159 mm

CONTENT: Commission from Doge Niccolò da Ponte (r. 1578-1585) appointing Alberto Baduario as podestà of Verona.

DECORATION: Full-page miniature with St Francis presenting Alberto Baduario who kneels with hand placed on a richly bound volume with attached seal, probably his commissione, set in an oval frame of gold architectural ornament with Baduario arms in lower section, and lion of St Mark holding open book with text PAX TIBI MARCO EVANGELI[STA] MEUS

ORNAMENTATION: Two gold initials [ 2 ll.] with gold foliate flourishing; the first four lines of the text and the names Alberto Baduario and Veronae written in gold epigraphic capitals.
